CBD Tea 101: Benefits, Legality, & Partnership

Be Still CBD Tea

What is CBD?

CBD (Cannabidiol) has become the hot new topic as scientists and researchers begin to produce convincing evidence of the neuroprotective properties of this compound in cases involving patients with depression, anxiety, chronic pain, arthritis, and inflammation-induced diseases.

CBD is the non-psychoactive counterpart to THC and can be derived from either hemp or marijuana. Now, while Colorado is quite lucky to have marijuana use legal for both recreational & medical purposes— not all states do. And this is where hemp comes into the picture. See, both hemp and marijuana come from the cannabis family so they share a lot of the same characteristics, except for the main differentiator— THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol). In order for CBD products to be legal (and sold) in all 50 states, they need to be sourced from industrial hemp as defined by the U.S. Farm Bill section 7606. Essentially, this bill states that for industrial hemp to be compliant and certified legal by law in all 50 states, it needs to contain less than 0.3% THC, unlike marijuana which can contain up to 30% THC a.k.a the psychoactive compound.

Herbal and traditional teas have quickly become a large part of the CBD product offerings for a number of reasons. First and foremost, tea is a great vehicle for transporting the benefits of CBD into the body. Why? First of all, hot tea is simply soothing to the soul. Plus, when brewing tea in hot water you simultaneously release not only the delicious flavors of the tea but also the decarboxylated CBD compound found in Sky & Wyatt teas. (Please note, in order for CBD to truly act on the body and produce the numerous health benefits, it must be activated through a process called decarboxylation typically done through the application of high heat.) CBD is also a fat-soluble compound so blending in a bit of oil, like coconut oil, into your tea not only helps to increase the CBD bioavailability but adds an extra creamy rich element to your cup.

CBD Tea Capabilities & Partnership

Turn On CBD Tea

As an organically certified manufacturing facility, we have positioned ourselves to be at the forefront of partnership opportunities for those seeking OEM (original equipment manufacturer) partners for private label organic CBD tea brands. By expanding our offerings beyond the traditional tea packaging options and incorporating customizable solutions for partners such as branded tags, overwrap packaging, and biodegradable sachet materials we set up our partners for long-term success. With the expansion of CBD product offerings in the health and wellness space, companies seeking to reduce their startup costs— most notably in raw material sourcing, R&D skills, production, packaging, and supply chain management can look towards an OEM partner to provide competitive wholesale pricing, R&D costs, and lead-times.

Additionally, as the only tea company with industrial pyramid tea bag manufacturing capabilities in Colorado, we’re excited to announce our first-ever CBD tea private label partnership with local brand Sky & Wyatt! As the therapeutic health benefits of CBD consumption become more prevalent and widely-accepted, being able to offer hemp certified co-packing opportunities for local businesses not only helps us support the growth of other small, growing businesses but also our mission to spread the therapeutic benefits of tea & herbal blends.
