Our gyokuro is grown in rich volcanic soil on the southeastern coast of Kyushu, an area known as a leader in organic farming practices. ‘Umami’ in taste and aroma, this smooth infusion will make you feel like you’re taking an exquisite plunge under the sea! Its finish is sweet and rich. The fine, needle-shaped leaves are a dark emerald green color due to being partially shade-grown, which gives gyokuro a high chlorophyll content.
