Monkey-Picked White, Organic

Monkey Picked White is my favorite tea. It's light and fragrant with a flowery taste!

Good quality white tea, it definitely has a fine taste to it, like almost green tea but not quite. The People on here that are complaining that it tastes like "nothing" are doing it wrong. White tea is delicate, too low temperature won't steep it properly, too high temp will burn the tea leaves making it either watery or very astringent. They probably don't add enough leaves either since it's light, it's very confusing to measure it out.

My methods? Which I actually found out online. You can't use a teaspoon for the leaves, you need to weigh it out. I don't have a scale for food/drink items, so I used two single- hand scoops of this white tea for 32fl oz of tea. Or roughly 7-8 grams. I steeped/brewed it for 3 minutes at 173-175 degrees F. water and mixed it around the glass pitcher with a spoon. This extracted much of the flavor. Plus an additional bonus is when you add more, you get more flavor.

I like it so far, but I don't know about next time I order. For the 1/2 variety.

The color did come out good and smell was good and very woody/floral flavor.

Definitely much better than Boulder blues.

Disappointed - like drinking hot water. I now mix it with sencha, or gyruko or peach mango.

I've purchased quite a bit of this tea as a less expensive alternative to the white tea that is flower tips only. It was always a good mixture of tips and leaves. This last batch was almost 100% leaves.

The apricot flavor comes through pretty strong for me. There's also a note of citrus--maybe tangerine?

This was my second white tea from The Tea Spot, the first being the silver needle. Compared to silver needle, this is a bit livelier, less floral, and not quite as sweet. It's impossible to say which I like better. Both are amazing.
