Accessibility Statement
The Tea Spot is committed to making our website accessible to everyone. We aim to conform with WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards, and we continue improving as accessibility guidance evolves.
Accessibility Measures
- Descriptive alt text for all images
- Scalable fonts and adjustable text sizes
- Keyboard navigation for core features
- Readable and high-contrast color usage
- Semantic HTML structure for screen readers
- Captions or transcripts for videos when available
Recent WCAG 2.2 Enhancements We Monitor
WCAG 2.2 adds new success criteria that strengthen accessibility, especially around interaction, focus, and predictability. Some of these include:
- Target Size (2.5.8) — Ensuring tappable elements like buttons and links are large enough for users to activate easily
- Drag Target (2.5.7) — Allowing easier interaction for drag operations, with alternative methods where needed
- Focus Appearance (2.4.11) — Clear focus indication for keyboard users to see where they are on the page
- Label in Name (2.5.3) — Ensuring that labels in ARIA and accessible names match what the user sees
- Accessible Authentication (3.3.7) — Offering accessible alternatives during login or verification flows
- Visible Controls (3.2.6) — Ensuring important controls are always visible when they’re needed
- Supplemental Content (3.2.7) — Avoiding surprising or hidden content that appears without warning
- Character Key Shortcuts (2.4.12) — Avoiding forcing users to memorize obscure keyboard shortcuts
- Redundant Entry (3.3.6) — Minimizing the need for users to re-enter information unnecessarily
Features That Support Access
- Text can be resized without impacting usability
- Logical heading structure and navigation landmarks
- Skip-to-content links where supported
- Visible focus styles for keyboard users
- Consistent UI behavior across pages
Ongoing Improvements
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We routinely audit templates, apps, images, and new content to identify and address accessibility issues. Our goal is to make The Tea Spot’s website usable and enjoyable for everyone who visits.
