Questions, answered.
Does it fit my mason jar?
Wide-mouth mason jars (Ball and Kerr). It does not fit regular-mouth jars.
How much tea should I use?
About 1 teaspoon of loose leaf per cup of water. Adjust to taste from there.
How long does it brew?
4 to 8 hours minimum. Up to 24 is fine for most teas. The longer you brew, the bolder the flavor.
What teas work best cold brewed?
Most of them! Whites, greens, blacks, pu'ers, herbals, and rooibos all cold brew beautifully. Skip matcha, since it is a powder and uses a different system.
Can I reuse the tea leaves?
Usually one good brew per batch of leaves.
