Immortal Dragon Cocktail Recipe

immortal dragon cocktail

Our friends at FEW Spirits just launched their award-winning "Immortal Rye" -- an epic cast-strength rye whiskey they creatively brought to proof with our cold brewed 8 Immortals oolong tea. This malty rye is complex, smooth, woody, floral, and fruity in all the right ways. Their mixologist friend Elliott, from Apartment Bartender in our local mile high city of Denver, just created this mouthwatering cocktail that had us swooning so we're excited to share this recipe. If you can get your hands on a bottle (on route to distribution right now) and some of our Immortal Oolong, we guarantee this won't disappoint.

Immortal Dragon
  • 2 oz FEW Immortal Rye
  • 3/4 oz "8 Immortals Oolong Tea Syrup" (see below)
  • 3-4 Muddled Dragon Fruit Chunks
  • Top with Soda Water

Oolong Tea Syrup

  1. Steep 1 heaping TBS of 8 Immortals Oolong in 1 cup of near-boiling water (195 F) for 5 minutes
  2. Strain out the tea leaves and bring the steeped tea to a boil over high heat
  3. Stir in 1 cup of sugar until it's completely dissolved
  4. Reduce heat and stir occasionally until the syrup has reduced to half its original volume (~10 min)
  5. Remove from heat and allow to cool before using
  6. Store excess in a glass jar in the refrigerator
