These rare single-tree Sheng Pu’er cakes are made from a 300+ year old tree in a wild harvest pu'er forest. We’ve “adopted” this tree, so all of the leaves harvested in a year are made into these exclusive cakes. A perfectly balanced tea from authentic sun-dried fermentation, that will get finer with age.

These vintage sheng Pu’er (AKA pu'erh!) cakes are made from the most ancient tree in the forest where Wild Harvest Green Pu’er grows, in a special region of Yunnan. We were so smitten by this tree that we’ve “adopted” it, and all of the new leaves it produces in a year are harvested and made into these exclusive, single-tree cakes bearing our name. Blending the leaves from the autumn and spring seasons produces a perfectly well-balanced and mouthwatering tea using the most authentic and natural sun-dried fermenting method. The age of the tree brings a depth of character that reveals layers of minerality alongside smooth floral notes of honeysuckle with hints of orchid. These cakes are of stunning visual beauty. Gorgeous flavor

Wow....I bought my 2021 cake last year, and I treasure my daily afternoon tradition of chipping off a piece of and steeping it gongfu style in my gaiwan. This cake tells a story...every steep is so complex and rich in flavor. I swear it offers something new every day. I can't wait for the release of the 2022 cake...I know it will be a favorite just as this one has been.

This tea goes a long way!

I love raw green puerh teas, and when I saw this one at under $100, I grabbed it, but wasn't sure what to expect at that price. Wow! It was a real treat. A single chunk (and there are probably 80 or more servings in a cake) steeped up brilliantly three times for me. So about $1 per three steeps... but beyond the value, it's smooooooth and tasty. The leaves from this ancient tree level the chi out oh so gently. Love this. Buying more!

IT'S SO BIG!

I had a Bamboo basket just for my first cake of pu'reh. It doesn't fit. The cake is 5" to 6" diameter and my little basket is designed for around 3" 🤣 I haven't tried it, but the size did take me off guard. X-D

Thanks for reviewing Wisdom of the Ancients Pu'erh Cake! It is a very big cake of tea! Chip off a teaspoon or so at a time, and steep in 175 degree water (boil, then cool for 3 mins) and steep for just one minute. You can adjust the amount of tea and steep time to suit your personal taste. Happy Sipping!

Dreamy

This tea cake is even better than the loose leaf green Pu’erh, which I didn’t think was possible... but it gives me more variety and intensity of tastes. The aroma is very similar, which I love, but the taste is several degrees higher. Fantastic experience. The price is actually a bargain compared to other ancient Tree sheng Pu’erh Cakes, and I couldn’t resist buying this one from the tea spots own tree. Glad I did, And so are my tea fiend friends!

Tasty cake

This is just as good as the loose-leaf pu’erh with the same mellow and smooth flavor. You can smell the grassiness but not taste it and overall the cake makes it easier to use but I find the taste the same. As with all the pu'erh blends I highly enjoyed this and would recommend it.
