Tasting Notes:

First flush Darjeeling is the year's first harvest, plucked over a few short weeks in early spring when the bushes push out their first new growth after winter dormancy. It's the most delicate and sought-after picking of the Darjeeling calendar, prized for its bright, floral character and lighter body.

Our leaf is grown at Turzum Estate in the Rungbong Valley, one of Darjeeling's most storied gardens. Turzum dates to the 1860s, established by British planters and later merged with the neighboring Sungma garden after a 1934 earthquake destroyed the Sungma factory. The combined estate sits at elevations between roughly 1,100 and 1,700 meters, cooled by Himalayan mist and fed by heavy monsoon rainfall. That high-altitude terroir, cool nights, rich soil, and slow growth, is what gives Turzum teas their signature aromatic lift and clean, elegant cup.

Moonlight Darjeeling is made from the AV2 cultivar, one of Darjeeling's most celebrated clonal varieties, known for its intense aroma and fruit-forward sweetness. The dry leaf opens with cantaloupe, apricot, and orchard blossom. In the cup it pours a crisp, clear gold, carrying spring fruit and soft floral notes over a gentle muscatel finish. It's smooth, refreshing, and light on the palate.
