Saturday morning is the perfect time for a breakfast experiment and on this lazy morning I decided to give my “Basic Pancake” recipe a face-lift. I have been using this recipe for years and every now and then I like to mix it up with a new ingredient and I happened to be inspired to experiment with Matcha this morning.
The beautiful green color reminds me of a spring day and I wanted to welcome that feeling for a bit longer by turning my pancakes a lovely green color. Along with the many other benefits of Matcha green tea, sometimes it just to make something pretty!
1 1/2 cups All purpose flour
1/2 cup Whole wheat flour
2 1/2 tsp. Baking powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 cup Yogurt
1 cup Almond milk (or milk of choice)
2 Tbsp. Melted Butter
2 tsp. Matcha Powder
1. Warm up your skillet (hit two birds with one stone, melt butter in skillet then add to your mixing bowl).
2. Combine wet ingredients: yogurt, almond milk, egg & butter
3. Then add dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt & matcha
5. Pour on skillet over medium heat
I hope you enjoy these Matcha Pancakes as much as I did, bon appetit!
